Connected Fitness Data
If you connect Strava, we may collect:
Strava Athlete ID
Activity duration
Heart rate minutes (e.g. minutes above 120bpm)
Timestamps of workouts
Workout category/type (basic)
We do not collect detailed health metrics, or sensitive medical information.
Payment Information
Processed securely by Stripe
FitBet does not store card details
Payout Information
If you win a prize, we may collect:
Bank account number
Sort code
This data is used only to send your prize and is deleted within 30 days of successful payment.
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data to:
Score challenge performance
Generate leaderboards
Validate streaks and eligibility
Process entry fees
Pay out prizes
Detect fraud or manipulated fitness data
Maintain and improve the FitBet platform
We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties.
4. Data Sharing and Display
We do not sell or share your personal data with external companies.
Some basic data (e.g., display name, daily score, streak status) may appear on challenge leaderboards.
You may use a nickname or initials if you prefer.
We do not display:
GPS locations
Raw heart-rate logs
Private workout details
5. Data Storage and Security
We store your data using secure third-party technologies that support the FitBet platform.
We protect this data using:
Encrypted connections (HTTPS)
OAuth-based authentication for Strava
Access controls to limit who can view your information
We do not store your payment card details.
Bank information used for prize payouts is securely deleted within 30 days.
6. Device Accuracy and Third-Party Data
FitBet relies on data from Strava and the devices connected to Strava (e.g. wearables, phones).
FitBet is not responsible for:
Missing, delayed, or inaccurate activity data
Device malfunctions
Incorrect HR readings or sensor failures
Sync issues between your device, Strava, or FitBet
Outages or data inconsistencies from third-party services
Participants are responsible for ensuring their devices are working correctly and syncing properly during the challenge.
7. Your Rights
You may:
Disconnect your Strava account
Request access to your data
Request deletion of your data
Update the name displayed on leaderboards
Ask questions about how your data is used
